Congratulations to your son and family for such an achievement! Please post once you have finished. FYI: Robert Kaufman has a free pattern on their website using the Boy Scout fabrics. http://www.robertkaufman.com/quiltin..._scouts_quilt/

Congratulations to your both! My son also is an Eagle and I know the amount of encouragement it takes during that last year for a scout to reach the rank of Eagle. What a goal! My son is now in his mid thirties but still is proud of his achievement. He just stands a little taller and is a little more confident when ever the topic of this level of achievement comes up.

One of my most special moments in life was when he pinned the Mother pin on to my jacket during his ceremony. Have your tissues at hand. You will need them.

The quilt is a marvelous idea. I hope we all get to see it when you finish. I have purchased some scouting fabric to add to a promised quilt for my son that will highlight his interests over time. This quilt is on my "someday soon" list. Congratulations again.

I understand. My almost 16 year-old DGS is becoming an Eagle Scout soon too. I asked him if he would like a quilt out of boy scout fabric and he said, "Absolutely NOT!" But my DGD is a girl scout and LOVES her GS quilt I made her.

I bought Boy Scout fabric a couple of weeks ago at Hancocks when I was in Paducah. Soon to be a quilt for my 11 yr old grandson who is involved in scouting. My 7 yr old is also just starting so I see another scout quilt in my future!

Congratulations on your Eagle Scout! I know making the quilt will bring back many happy memories for you of his growing up years as a Scout.

    Congratulations on your Eagle Scout.
I have 2 and I am very aware of how hard it is for both the scout and his family to achieve this.

    Happy Quilting,
    Susan
