I think you are right about going to a dealer its worth paying the extra money to get the right machine.

It says to enter a space enter a "_" (minus the quotation marks of course).
If you decide to send it back, then the best thing would be to go to a dealer and try it out. Having a dealer that can give you one on one instructions is sometimes best.

its only 4x4...I am not one to bring things back...I never do, but this one...unless a miracle happens its going back...I don't like the embroidery part of the machine at all...and its going to take some patience to thread it...I have tried quite a few times and yup I watched the video and read the book. The thread keeps breaking...most likely because I am not threading it right....aurgh....

It could also be your tension I had to loosen mine but got it figured out and now can use cheap thread and it works great. I do not have the same machine but can say I can thread mine with my eyes closed it is so easy.

I have always told my friends that if you by from a dealer you also buy support and instruction. I have had three different Brother machines and never had a problem that my dealer couldn't help me out with. Also, by working with them I have learned how to use all the features of my machine without the agony of plowing through manuals to figure it out. Also, service for your machine is always available when you buy diirect from dealers to say nothing about the guaranteed warrenties you get from a reputable dealer.
