I'm a new quilter and have been so excited to make a quilt for each family member. So I've started one for our youngest son who will be 21 in April. I decided to make scrappy blocks using his and his Dad shirts as well as others purchased from Goodwill as my DS's request was to recycle as much as possible for this quilt. He's a scrappy kind of guy so I thought this scrappy quilt would suit him. It's to be a large lap throw (twin size-ish) as he's a tall guy.

So I'm finally making the strips today using a dark denim to pull it all together...and it's just not working for me. It seems way too busy and loud to me. Is it as bad as it seems? I just don't know what to do. I can't imagine tearing it all apart but I don't know if it's going to get any better as I sew in the rest of the denim strips.

    Any ideas?

Finish it just like you have been going. It is a very manly and interesting quilt. It is definately scrappy and recycled looking. He will love it, I promise.

What's not to like...my goodness I think it is just beautiful and your work is excellent. Please finish it. Once it gets done, you will change your mind. It looks like a lot of work, maybe that is what is bringing you down. You have a lot done already....looks like half the quilt is done. I love it.

Oh my goodness DO NOT tear this up!. I don't think it is busy at all. I really like it. Sometimes we just get burnt out on a project we are working on. That is why many of us have several WIP (works in progress) LOL
