If you are really unhappy with it and don't intend to finish it, please PM me and let me know how much you want for me to buy what you have.
I am doing an OBW now in a class with my guild.

I like your hexagons. Please post a picture of the original fabric. What is the measurement for your repeat pattern?

Whatever, to all of the above. All I can say is, those hexes are sure luscious looking and I think you are going to have a winner if you persevere.

I'm in the midst of my first OBW and am loving playing around with the hex's. I don't think mine will assemble well, but that's something you take a chance on when you purchase your fabric. Just getting it together is a challenge to me and I LOVE challenges. If it turns out reasonably attractive you can bet I'll try another - I'm a scrappy quilter and, to me, this is a prettier version of scrappy. Your hexagons are gorgeous and should make up beautifully!!! Please post your next pictures of the original fabric (if you can) and some more of the hex's.

Thanks for your explanation ..... With over a thousand previous responses to this board from you, I was taken aback by your comment at first glance. But on considering, I could see you had a point - quite different than what was expected .... but fair.

I'm a newbie, sort of, and it is always good to be reminded to look twice before judging .... and think twice before jumping in with a come-back.

    thanks again.

I realize everyone likes different things...I replied to the REMORSE portion of this topic...if a person feels they did something they are not happy about, and they are looking for feel good comments, then don't say you have remorse..say you are not sure this is going to turn out like you thought it might...

I have seen many a people walk away from the OBW class feeling more than remorse over spending all that money on fabric that did not look good once it is was cut...

This might turn out just wonderful for YOU...but the process of these quilts don't look all that great until finished...some times one block will not tell you how the whole quilt will come together...

I am sorry everyone took my post as being nasty..it was my thoughts about why you might be feeling remorseful over having cut this quilt out...it was NOT a nasty comment about YOUR quilt!

This has been a very interesting topic. I got some cool fabric to make one. Am almost afraid to cut into it, more because I know it is going to be time consuming. I love the idea of the surprise at the end. But isn't that what quilting is all about anyway? Seems to me every quilt is a surprise till you get it sewn together. As far as some of the comments made, I will say that I am not a particular fan of Sunbonnet Sue and Pajama Sam, but I am not going to knock anyone for making them. I don't applique or do hand stitching because of arthritis. But I also don't criticize anyone for making them. They are quite adorable, just not my taste. As others have said, if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. Engage the brain before engaging the mouth (in this case the fingers). Keep up the good work on the OBWs, I will get mine done one day.

I made one and loved making it! To me it is like playing with a puzzle, deciding which way to position the pieces to make the prettiest hexagon. I followed CuteBuns tute on here and it was so easy. However, as much as I like my finsihed one, it is not nearly as stunning as sewingsuz's blocks she posted. That is going to be one gorgeous quilt! I also would love to see the fabric she started with.
