Could someone explain OBW to me? I think they are gorgeous but I don't know the first thing about putting one together. Is there a pattern?

LOL! I had never even heard the term until I got on the QB so I had to ask what it was and then I proceeded to call it a OBM. There is a great book "One Block Wonders" - I've checked it out of the library for now. You might want to look at it. I also searched the entire QB looking at ones that had been posted here. I also got some nice tips from k3n - she has done a lot of them. You might want to look at some of her listings.

There are books available. OBW, Stack & Whack, 4 Patch Posies all have the same basic idea with different degrees of difficulty. Every fabric has a repeated pattern as it is printed. You find a fabric with a repeat that will work and cut and stack the fabric repeat and cut your pieces. Cutebun did a great tutorial on OBW to follow. You can also search under 4PPposies for pictures. The 4PPosies I think is the easiest for a beginner to try because it is stacking 4 pieces of fabric and cutting 4 squares to make a block.
