Oh Dear. I quilted the designs sideways instead of longways on baby quilt.

I assure you I understand your anguish, but I can assure you it will be loved no matter the direction. You are seeing it through adult eyes, and adult heart. A child will see it differently and love it through their eyes/heart that a child can do...to them there is never mistakes in the joy of a quilt. AND...as an adult who stays sick so much, in and out of hospitals, who is a quilter, who makes constant mistakes in her own quilting, remember you made it with love and wanted to offer that love to another in a quilt. You have succeeded in that with this quilt.Did you not?I believe you did.

It would be a problem for me if it was a quilt I was doing for a customer (another quilter), but since it's a charity item, and otherwise made exactly right, I wouldn't take it apart or go through any heroics. It will be cherished just the same by the lucky recipient, as it is right now.

I'm with Joy. Don't stress over it. They probably will think you made it that way on purpose.

Most folks who view the quilt will be standing at the side of the bed - or crib - rather than the foot of it, so the embroidery being oriented landscape rather than portrait should actually work out well.
Would love to see a picture!
