    1. I've only over-oiled my machine a couple of times, and it only made a mess in the bobbin area, which is covered. I've never gotten oil on anything I've sewn.

    2. The kind of oil you use for machines doesn't seem to stain fabric.

    3. My husband has greatly honed my laundering skills by dumping something greasy on a nice dress shirt a couple of times a month. This is the best grease spot remover I have ever found. I buy it from Hancock Fabrics.

    Thanks so much to all of you who took the time to help. i totally appreciate it.

    I need to just take a deep breath and do it. And look for those spot removers, too.
