Hello and welcome from an Iowa girl! I"m in the extreme kitty corner of the state. Saw you guys had snow again. We have plenty here, but near as much as you folks to the west; even though plenty of snow days for the grands.
Good luck on the hanky pattern search.

Hankys are usually really thin. And wouldn't wear to well. I would think they would have to be secured to a piece of fabric before piecing. A sashing would help unify the hankys since they would all be different colors.

Hi lovemonkey: Welcome to the board. I am from Cedar Rapids. I am glad to see another Iowan here. I hate this weather but it does give us a good excuse to stay inside and quilt.

Hi Maureen 43. Yes, this weather has inspired me to cozy up and quilt! For the first time in a long time I made 4 rag quilts for babies and grandchiidren plus one king size quilt top since the snow began to fly. Have another new project in mind-foldy log cabin; have always wanted to make that pattern. Hope I like "foldy stuff"!
I'm just thankful that my shoulder/neck is better so that I can sew some. It's been 7 years!
Snow: we only got about an inch, but the roads aren't very passable with the wind picking up and drifting it.

There are quite a few of us and seems we are scattered all over the state.
