    I vote for the plaid. Be sure you cut it straight.

    Again, I can never thank all ya'll enough for the helpful and kind comments! I am finishing the applique - one more area...yay!!! Then on to the sashing....with all of these ideas, I don't know if I can choose....lol...A big thanks to you all!!! Will post pics when done...

    I think the plaid would accent the applique, not detract from it. The light is too light for me. And the one with vehicles is busy and would draw the focus away from your great work.

    I like the bias plaid idea and how about a 1/2 or 1" band of solid (red, blue?) and 3" band of the large print for a border. (Or any size bands that would be right with the block size) A kids quilt can't be too bright. <grin>
