I like them both I would however use a solid for the sashing I think that would give your eye a place to rest. Even thought the sashing you have is light I think it is a little too busy

What if I changed out the one red center and then used a red for the sashing?

I understand what you mean Barb, and I find them so also, however, the person it's going to asked for bright and cheerful and colors like I would use for my 11 yr old DGD, who is definitely not into quiet and calming. LOL I think I am going to end up saving those for a different quilt where calming and peaceful is wanted.

I think the bright solids work so well...
I personally would like to see a lighter solid for the sashing...maybe even a tan. Audition a couple and see...

I, too, think that the solid centres are the way to go! I'd also consider a solid sashing (leave the blocks as they are now), as the different prints make the quilt already quiet busy. That way the blocks can shine!

I also vote for the light print centers and sashing, just looks more coordinated to me. But both are very cute!

I like the solid centers.... and think I would like solid sashing as well. You have so much going on with the prints already. Whatever you decide, please let us see the finish.

Definitely the solid centers. There's a tug o' war for the eye's attention between the centers and sashing when they're the same.

i prefer the bright centers. and the sashing there is fine as it makes the blocks prominent.

I like the left composition. To me it has a softer more shabby chic, cozy look. The solids look hard and stiff to my eye. imho. I would also , not add another sashiing or different sashing from the one on the left, again, because it is soft and gentle.

Hope the comforting goes well.
peace
