I don't like the strips at all, too masculine. That beautiful, feminine, little girl quilts is so pretty. Either use the pink (predominate in quilt) or find a pretty flower fabric or a polka dot fabric for the border. Either of those should be the predominate color with lots of it. On second thought, if you don't have something like that I will swap with you, flowered pattern, mostly pink, for the border in exchange for several Bow Pie Blocks.

My feeling is that any time you can add stripes it really gives a quilt a lot of pizzaz (or is it pizazz?) Anyway, your striped fabric is PERFECT!! Go for it!

I love the stripes. Have you ever used stripes for binding. Cut bias of course. Interesting.

This is going to make some little girl very happy. I love the stripes. I would make the stripes vertical on both sides and miter the corners. I think that would be super cute.

I like the stripes. They're not the usual strips but feminine. And it pulls the quilt together nicely.

thanks for all the great feedback everyone, especially those who don't care for the stipes. Your reasons make sense. I am still learning about color, scale and value and I'm not a 'natural' whn it comes to that stuff so all of your feedback really helps. I think mitering the corners would look really sharp but I'll save that one for a practice project. This one is for my 6 year old GD so I'm going to 'git er done' so I can move on the other wip's waiting in the wings! I'll put up a finished photo when it's finsihed. Thanks again!
