I prefer Aurifil and use it on my Janome and my featherweight. Don't seem to have much lint.

I decided on the brand of thread I liked and that's all I buy. Too many good brands to keep up with them all. It's simplifies my life. I piece with Wonderfil and machine quilt with Omni. I use Sew Fine in the bobbin for piecing and quilting. I do have specialty thread but most from Superior or Wonderfil. I have used Glide and like it but my go to quilting thread is Omni.

this subject usually makes me chuckle.

and it makes me happy there are so many brands on the market so everybody can find one or two they like the best.

personally, i have never found connecting threads to be any more or less linty than nearly every other brand i've tried.
it certainly fits well into my budget.

i do like YLI [cotton] very much and am also tickled pink by the Tex 21 glace' cotton i got from wawak.com.

i comfortably use whichever of those i have in the right color for piecing.

for quilting ... anything goes. :-)

I piece with a variety of threads--but prefer Coats and Clark for sewing down the binding on the back by hand--never tangles or shreds for me. On the long arm, I prefer SoFine #50 (so does my Gammill!) but use YLI and King Tut, Permacore, Omni,Glide and Magnifico. I seem to have to make more tension adjustments with the Glide& Magnifico.

    Aurifil
since I longarm Quilt I use mostly polyester thread for quilting. Cotton doesn’t hold up to the high speed machine- it breaks constantly.
