I think the hearts are perfect. I have 5 grandsons and they are so loving and affectionate. They cherish the quilts I have made them and they each made a quilt block that my family gave to me on my 80th birthday. I treasure the memories they included in that quilt. I can look at each block and know exactly which one they made. Love isn't limited to the females in this world.

Your hearts are actually awesome. Your "friend" was probably jealous because she can't do as nice.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and compliments. It feels good to be validated. I hadn’t asked for advice so was a little taken aback by her comment. Wait till she sees my edge to edge flowers!

I think hearts stand for love. Boy or girl, they're loved and loved by all the people those hearts represent. Remind your friend this is a baby, not a teenager trying to 'find his identity'.

When someone has the guts to say something negative to me, I just say something like, I am not in this world to live up to your expectations. I feel that they need a reality check, so I just allow myself some quarter.
I love the hearts personally. Like so many before me have said, hearts are for everyone.

Imagine a little boy all gown up because someone cared and quilted hearts on his quilt!

Its a perfect quilt filled with love.
