Other than hand or machine quilting, what have you done?

I made a quilt years ago, that I tied with 1/8" polyester ribbons that I put "fray check" on the bows to keep them from untying. Made a darling baby quilt for my (now 40 year old) DD as a baby. I have considered trying it again on a "big stitch" quilt design, maybe with silk ribbon?

I have done embroidery with the center of a quilt all embroidery, and have received lots of compliments on the piece. Have done a quilt as you go and was fun. Can't think of other techniques off-hand, but have done several. Mariah

I made my son a T-shirt quilt from 53 of his H-D shirts, along with pockets from shirts, a H-D child's purse (after they outgrew it), H-D headbands, H-D organization emblems and filled in with pictures of him and his bikes. I topstitched around each of the individual blocks but when it came to quilting, i was at a loss for what to do. The quilt was about 90"x90" and quite heavy. I snipped all the Harley buttons from his other shirts and that is what I used to keep blocks in place and it added quite a unique feature to "My Baby Biker's" quilt.

I began with Tying quilts with the church women for Lutheran World Relief quilts. I found some cotton warp at a rummage sale, which is used to make rugs. It works great for tying quilts and is easier to thread into a needle than yarn and is stronger than yarn.
I tried my hand at hand quilting but didn't enjoy that . I have had some quilted but cannot afford do have them all done. I do like to tie most of mine as they are softer and cuddly.
I have done hand embroidery for many years and enjoy that .
I have learned to do Hairpin Lace crochet One can do this while riding in a vehicle or even watching TV. I have made 8 afghans.
I also enjoy gardening LOVE HOSTAS.
