You did get medical attention, right??? Those blades, especially new, have an oily coating on them and who knows what else from the manufacturing process. They are far from sterile and you risk all kinds of nasty consequences. A slice that deep is nothing to mess around with.

I took off the very tip of my left middle finger years ago - and it still feels sort of "not right" at times. It doesn't hurt - just feels a bit different.

Definitely get someone else to do the cleanup. I won't let anyone else near my turkey! But, you should just sit back and be the supervisor while everyone else does the cooking. Better yet, go to an offspring's house! After all, you're injured, and in pain. (joking of course) Have a great Thanksgiving.
