How does the resolution of pictures compare to that of printed books? Like, if you zoom in on a picture, can you see more or less detail than a printed book? I realize this might vary between different books, but knowing what is "typical" would be useful.

I've also checked out e-books about quilting from the library!

The pictures are really vibrant and stay in focus when zoomed. You can change the font size, layout, spacing, type of font, brightness, margins, background tint of page. I can't find any fault with the Kindle Fire for books.

upon further investigation it looks like a sketchy website - it appears the downloads are illegal. Kinda like the old Napster, but for books.

Oh heavens! I had no realized how out of touch I am before reading this. I've always been a paper person (accounting, invoicing, charting, records etc.), not to mention that I love the feel of a real book to read in my hands. I must own 40 quilting books and about the same amount in paper patterns. Would probably save a small fortune by getting myself a Kindle and downloading to it. Then maybe I could afford the EQ8....LOL
Will be checking this out on Amazon this morning...

If you want to save money, see what your library has for ebooks and quilting magazines.

I have never had a problem- once in awhile they ask for a donation but you do not have to send a donation. I’ve been using this website for years. They even have out of print book on their site.

I love my e books and have over 4000 titles! I read a lot and have many quilting and crafting books that I keep separately on an older Kindle. I store them on my computer pull them up if I make changes and always have a backup.
