I like the way the border enters the quilt at the triangle and looks right so I would not add a stopping border to this beauty.

Thanks so much everyone! I guess I had to simply lay it out, take a photo, and leave it alone. Thanks for your feedback- I wasn't seeing it as a whole unit. Was still seeing it as over 600 pieces that didn't line up.

I would not use an inner border. It's perfect the way it is. Beautiful!

I like the second picture but I would use half the width of the border print. The whole width of the border fabric feels kind of heavy to me.

Just in case you're not convinced - one more vote for going straight into gilded strip with no separation. That's one gorgeous quilt.
