I agree with SheriA I like the Clover flower head pins. However I have never seen the blue ones but have used the yellow ones for several years. I too have wasted money on the off brand pins. Heads keep coming off.

I have several different kinds. The thinner pins bend very quickly on me. I must have at least 5 different types. I think my favorite are the Clover with the flat heads. (look like flowers)

I use glass bead long very thin. For rows or heavier thicknesses I have learned to use the yellow ball, thicker pins. I have lots of bent ones and still use them.

It depends on what I am doing. I use the glass head pins when I am going to get them anywhere near an iron. Otherwise, I use the flower head pins since I can hold the tops easier with the arthritic fingers.

I have some glass head Fons & Porter very thin, very strong pins that I love. They don't blend like the flathead flower pins.

Always the Clover yellow and blue glass head pins which are 0.4 thick. They look just like the ones that are 0.5 thick, so be careful to buy the thinner ones. It really makes a difference. They don't distort the fabric and if you sew slowly you can sew right over them without worrying about harming your machine. They are so thin the needle will just nudge them out of the way. If you sew too fast and do hit a pin, the needle just bends the pin. I also have some flat plastic flower head pins I use when I need a longer pin (like pinning thicker areas, binding and such), which have all blue flower heads, dark blue on one side, light blue on the other side, and those are 0.45 thick.

Ditto, the super thin, glass head pins.

The glass heads are round. The silk pins are a Pain to pick up after one of my favorite QF leaves as they cannot be used with a magnet.
