Nothing is private on the web. I can find posts and quilts from this board--or any other --just by googling.
How many times have I seen posts with links which will take you to another site. You don't know if, what you are opening is safe.
As long as you run a good security and virus program you should not have a problem.

No, thank you. Privacy Policy says they will get your "real" name and info from FB or whichever site you might use to sign in with. I have created folders in "Favorites" and can look at any time.

Checked it out a few months back - some of my favorite bloggers rave about it - it's very cool, but decided it's not for me. I'm staying with saving stuff I love as doc.

I like Pinterest so far. I'm not sure the privacy issues are any more harmful than even your credit/debit card. My husband used his card at Joann one time and now he gets mail from them. He did not give them his address but they got it.

I really like Pinterest and use it for quilts and color inspiration. I dunno, I'm not too worried about the privacy thing, I mean, all they are really going to learn about me is that I'm terribly boring, all I do is go to quilting sites. LOL* Everyone has public info available about them somewhere, be it the phone book, or if you own property it's public record, or court records if you've married or divorced or been sued. LOL* All you have to do is click the wrong button and your email is full of junk mail. There are a lot of other sites collecting your personal info that are not nearly as forward about it and so I dunno, I think if it really bothers you don't join, but I really don't think there's anything to be that concerned over. In my opinon that is.

Same for me! And I have notes all over, most of which I really will never need again. I know there are a lot of folks with younger kids, grandbabies, etc. who use social media to "keep in contact". Isn't it good that we do not all have to be alike?

I hear it is just as addicting as this forum.

OH and if you design your own quilts, do NOT post them there...that is considered publishing, so if it is a quilt for a challenge or a show it would be disqualified for entry into most shows/challenges and magazine submissions.

Also it puts it out there for the public to steal, so it would be hard for you to prove it was your design if you are planning to publish a pattern for it!
