I've not heard of Chestnut Ridge, but I'll have to check it out. I was actually at Blooming Grove Sewing Machines and Country Fabrics that are both near Shiloh. Whats nice is they are practically in my backyard.

I don't think you are crazy. I think you are very lucky to be able to get such wonderful equipment. Have fun!

I'm envious too, would love the chance of such gear. Hope you really manage to enjoy it, and put guilt in the garbage!!

No, you aren't crazy--lucky maybe, but not crazy. You should hear the story of my LA purchase--long story short, my husband and I were on a road trip traveling to Branson 4-1/2 years ago and drove right by the Gammill factory. I yelled "look at that" and he nearly ran off the road, thinking I saw an animal in front of us. I said "that's the Gammill factory" and he said "what's that". He found out on Dec 29, 2008, gave the delivery folks a BIG check, and I've been learning and quilting ever since. I LOVE IT. They must sell lots of sewing machines at the end of the year--it seems that that is when I have received most of my favorite machines. And, believe it or not, I am in the mood to go looking for one now--my husband and I are planning a road trip down to Florida--maybe I'll come home with another treasure!!!!!

I hate to say it, but my SIL is also computer challenged, she's been having trouble figuring out her new sewing "computer", and I'm afraid she'll get discouraged.
I'm thinking you are both good enough customers for that Bernina dealer that they can do some "in home" demos for you!
