Default Grandmas' Pillowcases

That would be me!! I took a box of pillowcases from my great-grandmother, grandmother, my mother, and a pair that I had completed as part of my Hope Chest (and I am 66) and created this quilt. Here are three pictures (including one of the backing). I hand quilted every pillowcase on it. One of these pictures is a close up. Hope this helps. Each square is the embroidery part of two pillow cases or shams sewn together. By the way, this was my first quilting project right after I retired and it took me 2 years to complete because I was quilting others and worked on this 1-2 hours a day on the quilting after I had put the quilt together and I made blocks for the back (each pillowcase had 9 blocks on the back). Now I know to use just one piece for the back of a quilt...sigh...smarter now.
