A friend of mine embroidered designs on pre-quilted fabric and turned them into placemats. They turned out very nice.

I looked for pre-quilted fabric when I made my sewing machine and Tiara covers. They worked great. Also make great tote bags, etc. Have fun.

I made some teapot cosies with appliqued cups or flowers or initials on them. Some I made reversible by adding a separate lining in a print.

I would make all kinds of tote bags, a bag for carrying my cutting mat, placemats, and sewing machine covers.

I was actually just shopping for some to make a lap top case out of. Recommended to use two layers of it for protection. Years ago A friend used to make wallets from it. The problem for me was the designs I saw were quite dated looking. Dare I say it??? Old lady looking... because I am an older lady but Geesh!!!

I try to only buy it (for a customer order)only with a major coupon. Normally it sells for $19.99 printed or $9.99 for solid. I then use all the bits left to make tablet holders or makeup bags that open flat with bits of elastic to hold small bottles (like fingernail polish). This balances the cost of the original purchase. I like to use it for customers requesting appliance covers because it is fast (already quilted), easy to add piping and binding and lets the customer have a reversible cover. I usually do a french seam with the piping on the primary side and the french seam sort of looks like piping when they reverse it.

I love the prequilted fabric for tote bags and table runners - quick and easy.
