Hey has anyone purchased a kit and the pieces were slightly off? I am working on a Pinwheel. Or is it normal for the edges to be off, and you have to square the edges off before you sew the blocks together? This is my first offical quilt. Sorry I don't have pics..

I have to either square my blocks or block 'em. I've never bought a kit but it seems that human error is going to make things not line up.

I did a precut BOM for a friend once - will never do it again. I didn't like the precuts when there were easier ways to do some of the patches if I'd been able to start with just the fabric.

I once bought 5" squares, about 20% were off, some a little others a fair amount. I ended up cutting them all down to 4 1/2" squares. I won't order pre cuts again.

I bought an expensive 200 dollar kit at Hancocks of Paducah and it does not have cutting instructions just piecing.
Im afraid I will run out of fabric.
It is the Back To Nature quilt.

Wow. Mine was from a large lot of fabric and sewing stuff I bought from someone on Craig's, so I don't have a clue where she bought it from. I don't really like the color's but I really got a bargain on the stuff. I am new to quilting, so it will be good experience for me. Good luck on your's.
