If this was my quilt, I'd put a narrow border next to the binding in the gold, or a flange or piping, then do green binding. That little bit of gold will draw your eye out to the edge tieing in the gold sashing and other gold patches in the blocks.

I like the gold border on the outside. Go for it!

Love to quilt Linda 10-16-2012 07:40 AM

Yes, add the gold, stunning !

gramacheri 10-16-2012 07:48 AM

I vote for the gold border too!

Maybe a white border to enlarge it and open up the quilt. It is a gorgeous quilt, love the patterns and colors.

Personally, I would just leave as is with the green border and bind in gold. For me leaving that way it draws your attention to the center of the quilt. When you add the gold border, it draws you away from the center of the quilt, and the center of the quilt is beautiful..JMHO....

I also like the gold border ,realy a lovely quilt. You did good.

I agree

Well, when I first looked at it, my eye was drawn to the center, with just the green border, but when I saw it with the gold, it drew me to the gold border more than to the center. I think I would have to look at it a few times too. I think I might like it with just the green border and then maybe binding it in the gold.

If it's going in a room that you want it to look more gold I'd add the gold border, otherwise I'd leave it off.

I thought the gold border was too bold, too overwheming, too much gold in the quilt. If you used it as binding instead, I think it would tone down all the gold. BTW I love your quilt. Very pretty.

I like the gold border it finishes the quilt

orangeroom 10-16-2012 10:04 AM

LOVE the 2nd border!!!

WMUTeach 10-16-2012 10:42 AM

Tough choice I like them both. Are you going for additional size or just to enhance the quilt? Things to consider. As I look again, I like the second boarder just a little more and more.

Sometimes I will leave it lay out for a day or two and look at it from many angles as I go about my day, but I really would like to finish the top today so I can ship it out to the LAer. Plus that is one more UFO off the "books".

I like it with the gold border-I think it made it really pop!

justme 10-16-2012 12:55 PM

I like it with the gold border... just made the whole quilt pop... can't wait to see what you decide! Good luck with your choice.

I'm thinking green border with gold binding. I think there is too much gold with the extra border. By the way, I really like the colors in your quilt!

KwiltyKahy 10-16-2012 02:29 PM

I love this idea.

The fabrics are beautiful and I can hardly wait to see what you do with it. I have read through most of the posts here and don't think you got an agreement but quite a lot of things to think about.

ktmo815 10-16-2012 02:47 PM

I'm with the "I like the gold border" group

virginia cartwright 10-16-2012 05:53 PM

I would leave the gold border off. I think adding the gold fabric takes away from the whole quilt.

T. 10-16-2012 06:45 PM

I like it with the gold too. I might even like it slightly smaller; but it also depends on how large you want it to be. I am no help!

KLTQuilts 10-16-2012 09:19 PM

This is a beautiful quilt - I really love the colors! I think you should end with the green and maybe even consider use the blue for the binding . . . sorry, not much help! Anyway you decide to complete your quilt will be just beautiful!

trolleystation 10-17-2012 01:19 PM

qltrwannab 10-17-2012 08:55 PM

I definitly have to agree with DogHouseMom..! That would be perfect, in my opinion !! You really do beautiful work! I just love all these colors and fabrics ! Please post again when it is all done ! By the way.. what are the fabrics you used ??

berrypatch 10-19-2012 04:45 PM

dahlshouse 10-20-2012 06:29 PM
