I always like to look for free patterns on Google:

Eleanor Burns Egg Money quilts is a great place to use those Thirty's fabrics!

I made this one. 30's fabric's always reminds me of pinwheels.
Another idea I like is one called "That Thirty's Thing" http://www.quilterscache.com/T/ThatT...hingBlock.html I had seen it done in repro prints as well. |
Try a Smoky Mountain Stars with muslin background.

I am making one now with 30's repro. I picked Sun Bonnet Sue (since she is from the 30's) and Single Irish Chain (also from the 30's). Here's a rough sketch of what it looks like (colors are not accurate -- I'm using wedgewood blue, muted rose, golden yellow & muted sage -- both in the applique and in the chain in random order).
Oh, and half of the appliques are of Overall Sam on my actual quilt. It is a combination of 3 different quilts that I loved. :) |

Love your SS quilt, Bree, and it's going to be beautiful with those colors! Eager to see it!!

My first thought was Sunbonnet Sue and Grandmother Flower Garden.

Quiltingcandy,
That's exactly what I saw in one of the inspiration quilts I used. I just couldn't wrap my mind around making all those hexies. So pretty, but so much work! Maybe next time. :) |
I have always wanted the make Lori Smith's Ode to the 30's. It is more like a sampler and looks like a lot of fun. Perfect for those 30's prints.
