There are some really nice patterns in the tutorials right now that I think would lend itself well to 1930s fabrics.

Dresden plate really lends itself to 30's fabrics. The Dresden fans also work well with the 30's.

You might also look at the latest thing - Farm Girl Vintage. It seems like every quilt shop around is doing something with that book.
