My granddaughter just turned 9, last Winter she made 2 quilts one twin size and a small "crazy" quilt. She entered both at Coumblia County Fair (Oregon) and won best of show in Textile division (ALL AGES, not youth) for her crazy wall quilt and second place for her twin size. The photo of her with her crazy wall quilt is on the web site.
She has decided to start a "Designed by Amanda" business making girls skirts.

Me too! I'm34 and just started. Hubby, two kids & two dogs keep me from sewing as much as I would like, but I squeeze it in when I can! Oh, there is that thing called a full time job too! 😄

I'm 27. Started sewing when all my friends had babies about two years ago. :) I have a dear friend who's only a couple years older than me and she quilts, knits, and crochets and has been doing so since she was a teen.

I am 31 and in the process of making my first quilt, but i have been sewing since childhood. My lqs rarely seems to have younger quilters in it, and i cant say i exactly felt welcomed, in fact thats a main reason i joined this board. Not so much to connect with younger quilters, but quilters of all ages that were supportive to the whole community regardless of age.

I am 47 and started quilting at 35 :) My 19 year old daughter does not quilt but sews clothes and crochets; she wanted a cutting mat, rotary cutter and ruler for Christmas so I hope the quilting bug will bite her eventually!

I will be 64 in March, but I started quilting when I was 8! And I don't consider 8 to be old, nor do I consider 64 to be old...My great grandmother was still quilting when she died at 103!
