Unacceptable. You are being very generous if you are giving her another chance.

I would not use her again.

Was her long arm machine long enough to do the size of your top before cutting it down?

Yikes, thats all i got, YIKES !!!!!

this was a break down from the beginning
i don't even know a LA that would use sheets for the backing and i certainly have never known a LA that would be willing to piece a back for the customer. if you wanted her to piece your back it was up to you to tell her and then at least a conversation could have taken place on the issue. then the LA should have called you and said your back isn't big enough for the top bring me a different backing fabric when you can and the top will sit here until you do. |

She should have checked with you before taking upon herself to alter your work! Even if her quilting was good, I don't think I would consider taking another quilt to someone who doesn't respect your work enough to ask for clarification before making any kind of modification.

Hmmm. I'm wondering if this was just an excuse because the quilt wouldn't fit her frame without cutting it down a bit.
I'm assuming that she returned the fabric that she cut... You can add a border to a finished quilt, as long as you haven't bound it yet. You can use a qaug method. There was a posting on this very topic recently. I'll see if I can find it. ETA: Ok Here it is: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-137222-1.htm |
