i would take a scrap fabric and try it. Hopefully, someone will go & experiment!! As i said earlier - i generally use just a regular lead pencil

wish I had seen this yesterday. I do heirloom sewing and always use a number 2 pencil for my marks.....used it on my quilt and I spent 2 days trying to wash that bugger out.

Thanks loads for that tip. Could have used it earler too. I was cutting bias strips and inadvertantly marked the top side and not the back, then realized I had marked it wrong and then could not use the piece because I could not get the marks out.

They certainly are! I tried so many things before this... salt, vinegar, paper bags... the magic eraser was the only one that worked, and it worked without any real effort on my part.

I have also used the magic eraser on my cutting mat to get the fleece off of it. I used it dry.

I'm going to have to experiment with this! Thanks!!

Me too. I have a baby quilt top sitting in a box because part way through quilting it, I realized the pencil marks would NOT wash out off one of the fabrics. I'll be buying a Magic Eraser today and giving it a try!
