I love to go barefoot and seldom wear shoes in the house.

If I'm in the house I'm barefoot. In winter I may wear socks.
For all the ladies who mentioned having their right shoe off, and those who didn't, if you are right handed try sewing with your left foot (right foot if you're a left hander). I was told this in a class years ago. There was also a chiro/physio (not sure which) on Simply Quilts who recommended it. It felt strange at first but after all these years it's natural and my back doesn't suffer as much.

I'm usually barefoot. Have to kick off that right shoe, how else am I going to regulate the speed?

Barefoot. I never even thought of wearing shoes.

Shoes? what are those. I only wear them when I have to! If I go shopping or anything like that I wear them, but the first thing that comes off is the purse on my shoulder, and shoes, when I enter the house. I never sew with shoes on. And I have yet to step on a pin!! "Knock on wood" .....

I am always barefoot unless I am going out to the store! I even have bare feet in the summer in the garden. Sewing is a barefoot occasion especially when I am long arm quilting as it is just more comfortable and less tiring

Very interesting! as my back usually feels a bit sore after a long time at the machine I will try this suggestion. Thank you!

I'm a barefoot sewer, too. I usually am barefooted all the time.
