I too sew with one shoe or slipper off (right) and I also use a Machingers glove on my left hand. When I answer the door like this, my daughter takes one look and says " So, what are you sewing today?"

I'm barefoot in the house all summer long and that is how I sew, but now that weather is getting cooler I am usually wearing my house shoes because I don't like cold feet and my wooden floors tend to be cool.

I'm usually wearing my slippers when I go to the machine and my bare feet work better than the slippers. They are, no pun intended, slippery. So yes, I sew barefoot.

Same here. Guess we are all kin:)

Yep, bare or stocking footed. I also turn my foot petal around, with my arthritis it works better to push down and lift off with my heel. Curled toes can cause my leg calf to cramp.

I'm a barefoot or sockfoot quilter too!!

Barefeet. But I can't drive without shoes.

Usually have on socks or slippers.

Even if it's cold, and I am wandering the house in slippers (because I remove shoon the moment I enter the house) I take off that slipper when my foot goes near the pedal. Not even a conscious thought...and I wear Birkenstocks or flip flops most of the time so even away from home, my foot slips out before hitting the pedal!!

I can't imagine wearing shoes to sew. When I was a teenager way back when I figured out how to walk on mom's
carpet carefully so the straight pins wouldn't stab into my feet. My dad, however,
found plenty of pins with his feet and I always heard about it.
