really as good as everyone is saying?

I noticed that Joann Fabric has June Taylor Basting Spray 12 oz can is on sale - for $5.49.

Is it worth trying? What does everyone feel are the pros and cons of using this instead of pins.

Thanks

I love it too. Just make sure to protect the areas around your quilt (floors, tables) from overspray with newspaper or sheets. I do a bit of pinning with it, but my quilting has much improved with the spray for my quilt sandwiches.

I love basting spray! The trick to using the June Taylor spray is to shake it really well. Shake with one hand until your arm is tired...then shake in the other hand until that arm is tired! Then it is perfect! After you spray - let it rest a few minutes to get tacky before you begin layering the quilt sandwich.

Love, love, love it!:)

Yep! It can be messy but it sure beats pinning.

Yes, you do have to shake the June Tailor one til your arm is tired - a full two minutes!

I basted six quilts in two days a couple weeks back and even though I was very careful about aiming the spray, I have a mist on virtually everything in my living room, including my glasses, which were sitting on a shelf two feet above and five feet away from my basting table. That's not so funny, and I will never use it in my house, again - only in the garage.

But, it is SUCH an easy way to baste - I wouldn't give it up! And that price is really great - I think I paid $11.49 each for the last two cans I bought.

I love the basting spray too!

Be sure to ventilate well! One of our guild members managed to get a good dose of the fumes and ended up very very sick.
