I forgot to tell you that it has no magnet.
|
I have one and I LUV it. I need light on the needle area and this is perfect. Mine is not a magnet. It has a stick on holder and you can buy an extra holder for each machine you have. Just be sure to light it up before you use the sticky pad (it's like a 3-M stick on) to make sure the bendable arm lights the area you need. I highly recommend it.

I love my bendable light!
If you switch between two sewing machines frequently, then I recommend getting the 2nd mounting kit for the second machine. Then you can move the light from machine to machine. You can save about $6-$7 by searching on AMazon.com for the light. I think I paid about $31 or $32 for my bendable light that I purchased on Amazon. Same brand as the one in the quilt shops that I like. |
I love mine don't know what i'd do without it. I can move it when i need to use it when ripping out seams and then just move it back when sewing. You will love it too. I got mine online for about $25 just need to shop around. Don't by the generic ones they are not worth it.

OK high end is direct from Bendable Bright Light at $49.99 less than that is doable.....
|
I have two of them, LOVE THEM. I ordered mind from Nancy's Notions.
|
I absolutely love mine. Without it, I feel blind. My granddaughter, who was 13 at the time, asked me how I every did any sewing before I got the light. She couldn't imagine sewing without it. You will definitely love, love it!

I have one of the Bright Lights. Have used it a couple of years. I have the extra dicks so it can be moved to my other machines. I love the light. It was a bit of money but well worth it.

I was given a bendable light for my machine last Christmas!!
It was not a magnet but a stick-on kind. I just love it because my sewing machine and cabinet are in a darker area in my dining room where I have to sew. |
Hi Floafab, I have the bendable light I LOVE IT !!!!!! I bought mine at a quilt shop, sorry I don't remember what the price was It is just great you can zero in on your sewing. Mine attaches to the machine but is removable, it needs a receptacle. I leave mine on the machine all the time even when I take the machine with me. It goes on the side of my machine. LOVE IT, peterparley

Dear Sewcrafty, I have the bendable light as I wrote to Flora Fab. The light I have is not magnetic. It adheres like the closet hooks. I do have a magnetic scissors holder on my Husqvarna (comput) and have for years, never had a problem. Take care, peterparley

I have one also. These poor old eyes appreciate it.
|
Just love my bendable light. Of course, as I am getting a little older, everything helps to keep going.
|
Yuck---I have that light and I attached mine with sticky velcro.....my thought was I could attach it to other machines easier. Anyway, I hate the light----much too bright in one small spot of work space---bending it to the right place is too time consuming----doesn't always stay bent---in the wrong line of vision for me----I just don't like it. Anyone want a cheap $40.00 sewing machine light???
hehehehehe :) |

hehehehehe :) Although, I will say that mine has always stayed put .... til I knock it accidentally, though I can't blame it for that! :) |
I have one on my machine and love it. It doesn't take up any space on the table and is bright. The only problem I have is that there are no replacement bulbs. Once it goes out (and there is no warning, it just stops working) you have to buy a whole new light. Kind of dumb but I still love it and am on my 2nd one. First on lasted about a year. 2nd one is older than that so I guess it may die any day now....uh oh...

i have 2 of these at each machine. i drill a hole for them to set in. they are $15.

Yes I have two. One on my sewing machine and one on my longarm. Couldn't quilt without them now! :-)
|
OMG YES!!!! I have one. Do a google search, I got mine (brand new) for $25 but I can't remember where.
|
I also have one on my sewing machine and want one for the serger. Sure does help these "old" in years and "young" in spirit EYES--hee,hee. Do love this board !!!don't often write and have never sent pictures. One of these days I will get brave. Thanks to all of you.
|
The bulb keeps burning out in my sewing machine, so I bought one of these lights. It works great but the bright light does cause glare. I've found that I can move the light just to the side of the needle and the "side light" works great and doesn't tire my eyes. The stuck-on base that the light goes into is sometimes a concern - the light falls out when I move it. I'm thinking about replacing the base with velcro - just put the matching piece on the bottom of the light. Other than that, I love it.
|
I have the bendable light attached to my machine....abd I don't always use it but when I need it, it is there...and it is wonderful.
Expecially when one is working on Black or dark colors..... It was worth every penny of the $40. I paid. |
I LOVE this little light. I got it for about $25 on sale somewhere online...Fabric Depot, I think. But it's definitely worth getting.

I have one of the lights you are referring to and it does work well. However, if you can find a fishing light like was described in another reply, I would try that first (better cost). The light really does help and I am going to buy an additional bracket so that I can use it on both my machines.

I loved the first one I got so much that I went and got another one for my other machine. You can buy an extra attachment to move the light from machine to machine but I preferred to have one for each machine.

Our state quilt guild sold these as a fundraiser and it is the BEST light I have ever seen or used. It is extremely bendable and holds in any position. It is bright (LED) and lights up an exact spot.
It is sold at IKEA and is called JANSJO. The general IKEA # is 19972. The specific number for the pink one is 301.696.72, the red one is 301.696.72. It also comes in black and silver. BTW, it is electric and does not connect to your machine. And the fundraiser price was $15.00 |
I have the bendable light that attaches to the side of the machine and shines down on the machine needle - I find it is very helpful for checking if you are actually stitching in the ditch and even bends to help stitch rip a few stitches.
I have had it for two years and although it came with two bulbs, I am still using the first one. I really like it. |
