Menards keeps having the tear-off lint rollers for free after rebate, so that's what I've been using, also if I wear fleece or flannel jammies, the threads end up on me instead of the floor!

I bought some at a quilt show. Spent a fortune. Then found that Harbor Freight had the exact item for much less.

There is also a lint roller that has sticky tape on it, you use it then pull one part of and a clean one is left. I have had one for a long time and there is still plenty of tape on it. You just roll it over the surface and everything sticks to it then you pleal a layer off and it's clean and ready to use again.

Doesn't Harbor Freight seem to come up often? Maybe it's time for a slow walk-thru and see what other potential quilting tools they have.

While you are rinsing the threads and lint off the roller, aren't the threads and lint going down the drain? Don't you ever get a plugged up drain?
I got a tip from somewhere to use a clean, never used toilet brush to brush up the threads. I brush everything into a pile and pick it all up with my hands and throw it away. A lot of the threads also stick to the brush so I clean that off at the end as well and throw the threads into the wastebasket. All Done! No clogged drains! No refills for a lint roller to buy! I should say that I have carpeting on the floor where I sew :XD: :thumbdown: :XD: :thumbdown: but I have to leave it there because I live in an apartment with wall to wall carpeting. |

I also paid quilt-show price for a set and regretted it. Became too hard to keep washing, and filled up so quickly.

I have a canister vacuum. I use just the wand to pick up all visible threads before I vacuum with the carpet tool. No threads caught up in the roller bar.
