Thank you Marlys. I was trying realy hard to not be able to tell what the pattern was, but still using the pattern - does that make sense?? My head is still swimming and my vision stinks! Maybe tomorrow it will be better?

Thanks for the posting. I love the block. I have been trying to find a pattern that will work well for a baby quilt for my niece(due in Oct) but haven't seen the pattern I want for the fabric I found. This block will make a great baby quilt! Enjoy the Block Challenge. Thanks again. |

If you are up for it, how would you like to have a block challenge?? The rules? Do the above block, following the pattern - do just one or, if you want to try another - fine! The only colors you can pick from are off-white, black, pale green, peach and small print brown. You can "tweek" the pattern by putting the lights where the darks are, and vise-versa. The idea came to me watching F&P Saturday. Lets see how many different varieties we can get using only ONE pattern and just rearranging the colors. Got it? I would love to do this challenge, but I have a back injury and can't do anything at this time. Could you give us a while longer to do this block? Maybe later in July, hopefully I will be back to where I can sew again. Love your idea.

For those of you that said you don't have the colors?? You could use only 2 of the colors listed - you MUST have the basics, right?If you don't have time, we will "catch you" on the next block - out on the 7th of July. Thank you SO MUCH, participators for taking part in this challenge, and we hope that you will be back for the next challenge! We are leaving in the morning for the beach, but I will try to get something done tonight. I like to try and put together at least a block a night when possible. I love this pattern, too!!

I needed something to remind me that piecing is supposed to be fun....thanks for this challenge and this block....I made two identical blocks while I was at it.....I am looking forward to more blocks and a lot of fun with this one....

Sounds like fun will go thru my material shortly & see what I can find. Am home recovering from knee replacement surgery so have time & it will be a nice distraction from physical therapy/exercises!

I would like to try this sometime. Could you keep track who sends a pic and then do a drawing and that person's name drawn gets the blocks--would only cost price of postage stamp to send. Then maybe she could do a charity quilt with the blocks? I think this would be fun.

Philarena - Prayers and Blessings to ou stepson and family and to you and DH. Please post a pic. of his new quilt. So kind of you to do this for him. I agree, that's the least one can do for someone who is defending our freedom. He must really want that quilt to ask you to make him one. Not many men want to ask for quilts. At least he will feel like he has part of home with him when he uses it. Best wishes and good health to you so you get it finished.

I really like the patter. Will try to do one tomorrow, just not sure how to post pictures. If I don't get it done tomorrow, will have to bow out of this challenge as too many things going on.

Here is mine. I stayed up until 4 a.m. to do it. It was fun. With more color choices, I think I will make a quilt using this pattern. I didn't think I could do it. Thanks for challenging me. I'm so glad I tried.

That block looks nice! Now if you made a second one, and sort of switched the colors around, it would give it a different look! - Good job!
