I've been using them for quite a while, too. The thing I do that helps is match the color band with the thread color. The reason this comes in handy is because once you've got the hair thing on the bobbin it's a bit difficult to see what color the thread is. I buy the big bag so I get just about all the different colors. 8-)

Wow! That's a great idea. And here I've been throwing them away. That sounds even easier than the hair bands. If I had saved all of mine I could go into business selling them by now.

Neat. Cheap and not more threads getting tangles.

If you want twist ties.Good old Dollar Tree carries a roll of them that are actually for plants. They are green and they come on a roll with a cutter on it. My DH buys them for his plants and I use them for my bobbins.. He thinks he is using way more than he really is. Hehehe

awesome, thanks for sharing. The other day I was going threw some of my thread and they were just tangled, I wondered how I was going to separate them and keep them from not tangling. Now I know. And to think I was going to skip this topic, glad I didn't. I'm still learning new tricks.

I have used these for awhile now, they work great, found mine at a dollar store bag of 100 for $2.

After a while the rubber bands get sticky and stretchy so please keep an eye on them Aurora41 I do like the idea of hair bands I have been using them for other things, now I will get some for the bobbins. Maybe the thread won't run all over the floor when I am quilting. They get caught in the quilts and "Goodbye cotton " hello mess.
