LOL, OK, I am not always "in the box" as far as ideas go, but here is my thought. Why not get a permanent fabric marker in pink and color in some of the white squares in your print fabric. You can also do this with watered down acrylic paint, just heat set in the dryer or with your iron after it is dry. You want the paint thin enough not to leave clumps on the fabric, but not so thin it doesn't color it well. It won't take a lot of water.

I think you are adding an extra, busy element which detracts from the simplicity of the quilt. My suggestion is to make a geometric, striped border from any left over fabric that you have from the quilt. Even a piano key design would be better than bringing in the new element. You could even do miniature copies of the brown stripe, square pattern, all around the border of you quilt. Happy sewing!

To me, the print has the right colors but the wrong scale and it competes with the strong graphic design of the quilt. I think all it needs is a narrow dark brown solid border.

I like your last picture using the dark brown, blue & then the print fabric. The blue adds just 'enough' & looks very nice.

Exactly the thing I was thinking!

I LOVE the first option.
go for it!

I really like the print one. I don't think the orange vs. pink is an issue. Your quilt has a darkish yellow which "flows" into the orange in the border print. I also think the square flowers of the border print mirrors the squares & rectangles of the quilt.

(I only read p 1 & 2, sorry if I gave same answer as another poster, in which case, I agree... :D )

hmmm, I may have been off topic by now... this page, #6, seems to be on another subject now.

I would go with a solid border.
