I have several wooden spoo holders of different size tht fits over the spool holder on the machine that are different widths to accommodate the larger spools of threads.

You need a separate cone thread stand for the thread

Throwing in my 2 cents worth, make sure if you buy the thread stand, that it's METAL and NOT plastic.

There are several places on this board about building your own thread stand. It stands behind your sewing machine and allows you to put large spools of thread on the stand and thread your machine as you regularly would. I also heard that ones you build are not heavy enough so they don't hold the thread and your stitches get uneven. I bought one on the internet through a quilting store but can't remember which one. This is a heavy metal one.

Somewhere I bought wooden inserts to slide inside those larger spools. They must have been inexpensive as I bought a couple.

I'm just the opposite. I rather have something that looks nice that does the job. I have never regretted getting the nicer items. I got over feeling guilty when it comes to spending money on me a long time ago. :P :D :D :D
