I loved all your pincussions , I esspecially love the Bird , the Chickens made with strips , & the Teapot. Would you ever share the patterns?

terrific pin cushions. I agree everyone should have lots of them. They are so much fun to look at. Some people collect salt and pepper shakers. It's the same with pin cushions. Mary

Cute, Cute, Cute! I have a tomato one but never use it and my favorite is one of the"bracelet" ones. It went missing for awhile but when I moved & had to really condense my sewing stuff I found it!! I don't really use pins much in my quilting though but I wore that bracelet ALL the time when I was garment sewing!

I loved them all, especially the teapot one. I just recently started to make some with a friend. We are using the small jars, it is kind of fun.

Those pincushions are adorable! I love pincushions but I only have two- however since I have four machines I need more than that! I'm always having to move pincushions to the machine I'm working at so I have a place to stab the pins as I'm taking them out of the fabric as I sew. Plus a couple at my cutting table. Plus a couple because I'd like to keep all my different pins in separate cushions...LOL
My girls love my pincushions too. They like to arrange the pins in different shapes on the cushions. My five year old took my green apple pincushions, which has red glass-head pins in it, and stuck them all in a filled heart shape. It was cute lol. |

Believe it or not, today I was looking at an empty white plastic container that had a recessed area on the right side in an odd shape and a small rectangle area to the left. I was thinking of fashioning a pincushion in the right side and using left side to hold small scissors and other small sewing stuff besides ONE of my sewing machines. LOL |
Great collection! I have a few pincushion (just 5) and I thought it was too much !!!! Thank you! I feel much better now!!

Can never have too many! Just got another one last week from a friend...whenever it is our birthday, we give to everyone in the group...easier than remembering to give gifts throughout the year, and then we receive whenever it is a friends birthday...have gotten several pincushions over the years. There are 12 of us in the group...so we give once but get gifts another 11 times a year...fun...and then also our Christmas gift exchange...even more fun!

She is a retired Home Economics teacher and she also bakes fancy cakes, so for her BD I made her a little cake on a pedestal pincushion that she loves. My DH and i found the glass pedestal at an antique barn. I sewed a cylinder in white satin, filled it with saw dust, and embellished it with ribbonwork, then attached it to the pedestal. A fun project!
