Our HOA prohibits clotheslines also, but as you said on of the retractable behind a privacy fence would not be visable. I have been waiting for someone to help me get the umbrella one I purchased set in the ground. When the tem is 100 +, I just can't ask anyone to dig a hole in the ground. I am enjoying all of the patterns that have been posted and was just wondering if it might be possible to purchase a small child's dress from someplace like Goodwill, place it on a hanger, sew up the bottom edge (hem area) and have a bag???????

try www.clotilde.com, they sell one

Lovely ideas! thank you! I do have my clothesline (I live in the countryside,no neighbors!) and I love the sun on my clothes! I'll make a little clothspin bag!
Thank you Patricia |

Oh I love to hang my sheets on the line... Got to make a bag as the cheesy dollar store one I have falls off the line. But someone tell me, where can I buy the good old fashion clothespins???? I had to get a smaller, flimsy version...They do not hold heavy things well at all.... Oh what I would give for a decent clothespin!

i still hang out clothes. sorry this is not a sewing answer, but this is what i use. i like to reduce, reuse, recycle, a plastic javex jug (etc). just cut a piece out of the handle down low so it will slip over the clothesline. on opposite side cut out half moon shape from the ridge up. punch a few holes in the bottom in case it rains, so it will drain. i take mine in.
i use the slide on clothes pins and they will stand up on the side, also your line dividers will fit on there too. if this is not appropriate, please remove. thanks |
Yes, still use the line occasionally.
Not very often, I have allergies and the pollen clings to the clothes. J J |
So cute. My moms birthday is this week. I think I will make her one. Thanks for the link.
