I tried this and got 9 thousand plus temp folders. How can I tell if they are important and I should keep them. Their names are all in "computer language".

AS a PC Tutor I entirely agree, I won't use any Symantec progs either, I recommend either Avast or AVG, both free, for anti-virus and Adware for those horrible ads ware.

How long have you had that computer? If you got them by typing "%temp%" in your RUN area, you should be safe in deleting them. You can always delete them and then reboot without emptying your trash or running any additional cleaning programs. I think you're safe but don't want to be responsible if something goes wrong!! If I found them in the %temp% folder, I would delete them and not worry. Since I cleanup weekly, I'm not sure how many temp folders would accumulate over time.

last resort: reinstall windows. You have to back everything up first though!
This should only be used if there is something that can not be fixed.Run spyware program that should do wonders for you I also do not trust mcaffee we run avast(free program ) ,super antispyware, and complete care with malware and ccleaner. If this doesn't work you could always go to [url]http://www.techguy.org/[url] people there are VERY helpful.

AVG is a virus program that bundles adaware and spyware - - all in one. I've been running the FREE version for almost 2 years and never have a problem. Here's a link to the FREE version: http://free.avg.com/us-en/download

BEFORE you download, uninstall your McAfee.

The other thing you might try to make your PC run faster is to do a de-frag.

have you recently installed some new McAfee programs? One that scans websites and checks to make sure that any browsing you do is to a safe site? I did, had to go in and uninstall. I was beyond slow to barely moving.
