Connecting Threads Customer Service

I had to share this with all of you. I purchased 7 1/2 yards of a solid Taupe cotton from Connecting Threads (and some other goodies too) but the fabric was for a set of curtains for a friend's baby room. I took the job on as a rush and agreed to have the curtains to them today! My fabric arrived on Saturday the 17th, which is what I expected. So I gleefully opened the box and was appalled to see black dirty marks on the fabric, just about every yard or so. I was desperate - I HAD to use this fabric. So I bundled it and washed it, dried and then pressed it. The marks came out - no problem. In the meantime I emailed Connecting Threads, and told them not to refund anything as I was using this fabric, but more to let them know there was a problem. They absolutely refunded the money instantly. They were very apologetic and they were more than nice. I had pictures of the marks etc., but they didn't need that. Just a cheerful, quick refund with a store credit. It made the whole experience wonderful!

So once again, I can recommend them to anyone - they truly exceed my highest expectations in customer service.

Now that is customer service!!!!

dunster 03-19-2012 11:36 AM

Every experience I have had with them has been wonderful.

misskira 03-19-2012 12:02 PM

I agree... I've used their sister site, knitpicks.com quite a bit. The customer service line is the same, and I've always had amazing service. The even replaced a knitting needle that broke almost 2 years after purchase.

Jennie and Me 03-19-2012 12:04 PM

This just reaffirms my faith in them...thanks for posting.

helou 03-19-2012 12:56 PM

wow this is really good customer service!

Quilty-Louise 03-19-2012 01:25 PM

I placed an order last week for some thread and fabric. I just
love theirs fabrics high quality and nice to the touch.

Although I am VERY sad that they discontinued their Bits & Buttons
themed (sewing/quilting themed) line. I truly loved buying that fabric.
Had I known they was going to discontinue it I would have bought a
lot more of it when it was plentiful.

Oh well live and learn.

patski 03-19-2012 01:34 PM

that is why they stay in business and thrive! more lqs stores should be like that

That's so nice to hear. Glad it turned out well for you

auntpiggylpn 03-19-2012 01:37 PM

Yay!!! It is all about customer service isn't it? A lousy experience can make or break 'em!

SouthPStitches 03-19-2012 01:48 PM

I don't care what the company is, occasionally there can be a problem, but Connecting Threads is definitely a class act, as your experience can attest to. I too, have been very happy with KnitPics.

Candela59 03-19-2012 03:13 PM

I just love Connecting Threads. I've never had an issue with quality or customer service. :)

Deb watkins 03-19-2012 03:16 PM

I too, am a die-hard customer. They are so gracious and responsive. Love the new fabric they are coming out with....oh, the temptations.

BellaBoo 03-19-2012 03:26 PM

CT has a five star rating from me in service and products. King Arthur Baking has the same great service if you need baking products.

Wunder-Mar 03-20-2012 08:25 AM

THAT is exactly why I have been such a loyal customer and one of their biggest cheerleaders since the 1990's. Connecting Threads and Keepsake Quilting are the golden standard of customer service.

Vanuatu Jill 03-20-2012 08:48 AM

I also love them. I just got another order yesterday-6 more 1-yard cuts of their Mirage fabrics and a print, plus another Essentials thread collection-and a few extra spools. I love their thread-and it was 40% off!! Other than Thousands of Bolts and one time with Bear Paw Quilting, I have only ever ordered on line with CT. It would be nice if they could read all these testaments to reaffirm they are doing it right!!!

Maggimae 03-20-2012 01:36 PM

Fantastic! I have shopped with them and they are very nice to deal with! Wish more companies were like this!

susie-susie-susie 03-20-2012 02:33 PM

Another happy customer here, although I never had a problem with anything I have ordered, it's good to know that they take care of problems right away. Their fabric is great, and I love their thread.

Last week when there were people on here complaining about their thread; the lint and the red thread bleeding I was concerned. I had just ordered alot of it and can't afford to have something that I can't use sitting around. Right after that I got the email from them confirming the shipping of my order. I replied to it with my concerns. The response that I got back from them was that they had never heard of any bleeding and no more than normal when it comes to linting. The stand behind the thread 100%. This tells me that those who had the bleeding must not have complained or it would have been taken care of and I'm not sure of the expectations when it comes to lint. I use Aurifil so I'll compare it to that and I'm expecting great results and great customer service if I have a problem. Your experience only makes my thoughts more sound. Thanks.

quilter1943 03-20-2012 03:58 PM

I had a problem with them once - wrong fabric was sent. They sent me a pre-paid label to return it and credited my account. Always very happy with their products, especially love their threads.

coopah 03-21-2012 04:11 AM

Connecting Threads is my first "go to" when looking for quilting supplies. Keepsake Quilting is second. Both companies have had a quick response to any of my questions and I've been pleased with the quality of items ordered.

callen 03-21-2012 04:31 AM

I too, have nothing but positive experiences with Connecting Threads. I also used their sister site for tole painting supplies & the customer service is the same EXCELLENT.

jeanneb52 03-21-2012 04:31 AM

Yep that's what keeps me "connected" to them.

QuiltingKrazy 03-21-2012 04:36 AM

I have had nothing but Great experiences with Connecting Threads! They are usually generous in their yardage cuts!

kydeb 03-21-2012 04:39 AM

I LOVE Connecting Threads! Good for them!!

Dar-midlife 03-21-2012 04:52 AM

I can only echo what everyone has said here! I would only add that their prices are great too! One of the elite:-)

qwkslver 03-21-2012 05:33 AM

I like their merchandise and have always had good service with them. I guess everybody has a bad day, even Connecting Threads. So glad they refunded you. I second it, I like them.

cjackaitlin 03-21-2012 05:39 AM

I also have had great service with them. i love the fabric and will continue to shop with them.

donnaree59 03-21-2012 05:41 AM

I've ordered from them several times (never a really big order, but several small ones) and have been pleased each time. I like the feel of their fabric and they are very fast. Loved to read GOOD things about companies here! So often we just post the negatives....

glorcour 03-21-2012 05:53 AM

In my limited experience with them, I found them to be super. Will continue buying from them. Good value and good quality.

judykay 03-21-2012 06:37 AM

I absolutely love Connecting Threads, I love their kits and their customer service is fantastic. I tried to order a kit from the winter catalog but it was not on line. I emailed them and they responded that it was such a popular kit they ran out of the fabric. There was a free pattern included with the kit but from the picture all I needed was one measurement and I could figure it out myself, well guess what they sent me the measurement that I needed. Hows that for great customer service, they didn't have to do that but they did .

JanieH 03-21-2012 07:00 AM

I have read the same response from many people on the QB. It makes me very confident to order from them!

I order from the quite often and have never been disappointed unless the item I want is no longer available. They are wonderful to deal with and they are my first go to for any internet quilting supplies.

Quilter2B 03-21-2012 02:02 PM

Glad to hear everything worked on in the wash! I've had nothing but good service from Connecting Threads!

KathyKat 03-21-2012 03:46 PM

Yes, they are very good. In Feb I quickly calculated how much more fabric I would need from the Canterbury collection because I had some of it and planned on making a quilt for my sister after my winter vacation in Texas. The canterbury collection was on sale so I knew I'd have to order it before I left or it would probably be all gone. About 2 hrs after I ordered it I realized I forgot to order the backing that I wanted. I called them and asked if I could add to the order. The answer was no because it was already processed but I could make a new order and they would waive the shipping which I really appreciated.
