Actually made one after staying at a hotel and seeing cloth one. Not quilted though. When Sister in law was ill and feet were so cold I made one with fans and it came out so beautiful if I do say so myself ! I don't know how to put pics on as yet but one day will. They are great and I love the idea of across the pillows instead of shams !!

I started making one but it grew... into a twin size quilt! LOL

I'm waiting for a book I ordered with 10 bed runners in it and I plan to make a few for my bed.

I hate to sound like sour grapes, but I have only one experience with Kaye London. She had a pattern that I really cared for, but you had to buy her templates. When I e-mailed her about it, it was a basic, well, your welcome to try the pattern but you really need the templates. The end. Never got the pattern nor the templates. They were basically a set of heart shapes that fit inside each other and made from a heavier type card board. I'm normally not a cheap schake, but it didn't sit right with me. Has anyone else had a problem with having to buy the special templates, etc. just to buy the pattern? It was a little rpicey I will admit.

Yea I like the idea and will make one one of these days. I think it is a great idea and an added ever changing decor for the bedroom.

This is the first time I've heard of bed runners referred to as, 'Quarter Quilts'. But, I like the idea of bedrunners. They can be the same size as a lap quilt or a shawl to keep warm while reading, etc. Eiltcoq.

Bed runners sound like a great idea for trying out new blocks and quilting at home. Guess I'll be the snoopy guest at Christmas so I can remember daughters' bedroom colors for gifts next year.

I tend to prefer to make lap quilts, and then I lay them on my king size bed which has an offwhite duvet cover (an imported quilted one, I'm ashamed to say!). That way I can "show off" various quilts I have made, even if it's just for me and DH. The spare room also has an offwhite quilted spread (again confession time - made in China), and I use it as a backdrop for various quilts I have made. Will I be kicked off the board for such an admission?
