Yes I do and also housework if needed. When you work full time, life has to be flexible and you go with the flo.

As a kid I always heard that too....."If you sew on Sunday you'll have to take it out with your nose"!!!!! Funny, but I seldom sew on Sunday! Maybe an old message sticks with me!!!!

My mother used to say the same thing when I was a kid. I don't know that that is actually in the Bible somewhere. But I sew on Sunday - I sew everyday. I can't believe that we will be punished in Heaven. That's not what Heaven is about. I hope I don't find out I'm wrong.

I don't think God would mind.

I only quilt on days that end in "Y".

That's the day I do nothing else but quilt!

erstan947, your avatar is beautiful! What is it called?

Interesting question. I quilt on any day I have extra time to devote to it, including holidays.

The only thing that makes Sunday (and for that matter Saturday) better/different than the other 5 is that I don't go to work and I have all day to play, sew, cook, and watch bad movies on the Scify channel.

When I was 15, many, many years ago, my great aunt said you did not play card games or sew on Sunday. Since she was born in the 1800's I am guessing it is from her Victorian upbringing that she was taught this belief. Remember when stores were closed on Sunday? I think now it depends on if you look at it as work or play. Quilting is play, right??? Take care.
