My Grandmother did not quilt but she crocheted and she did this on Sunday afternoon and ever other day of the week. She loved to crochet baby bibs, shoes, caps and sweaters. She had them in 3 different stores. She never told me not to sew on Sunday but she did teach me and took me to church Sunday morning Sunday night and Wednesday night and I still go. Quilting is something I can do and talk to the Lord at the same time and I don't have a problem with doing it on Sunday. My Grandmother raised me, my mother was killed in a car wreck when I was 2 1/2 years old.

Yes, I find it relaxing and restfull. Sunday is a day of rest, there are some things I would consider not doing because of this but quilting/sewing is not one of them.

I quilt every minute I get a chance to do so. I was told as a youngster if you start a sewing project on a Friday then you will never finish it. I used to be bothered by that but now I just go for it!

I quilt any day & any time I can. :-)

My DH believes that you should not WORK on Sundays, it's a day of rest, but quilting is different, I wanted to say, it is not work. But sometimes it is. I quilt whenever I have time.

I sure do. I quilt when ever I get the chance.

I often sew baby quilt top kits from the quilters at church on Sunday. Sometimes I work on a warm hugs (donation) quilt.
I don't consider these work. As I grow older I have developed a different perspective about keeping the Sabboth. I think the best Sunday afternoon activitiy is getting together with other quilters and sewing. This is fellowship, not work. |
