After church and usually family dinner may sit and do little hand work, no housework or yard work or shopping, Family time, I am LDS
I think it has something to do with old time religous beleives. Sunday was the day of rest and you were supposed to rest. I never quite understood that because Grandma, Mom and aunts in my family spent the whole day cooking dinner after church for the extended family and the only ones resting were the men as they watched TV. Then the kids got stuck washing all the dishes. I was never so happy to see a tradition fade.
I sew on Sundays if I can find the time. It's a hobby, not a job. I don't feel that quilting is work...now washing the dishes or cleaning the house, that's work and it can wait until Monday. |
Even when I was still working I sewed when ever I could -- the time or day didn't matter I just had to be constructive while my eyes were open
I quilt whenever I have the notion. Sunday is a gift from God and being happy is what makes me happy quilting. Really, I never thought of not quilting. hmm, think not.
Sat and SUn are the only time I really have to quilt
My work day is roughly 6:45 am to 5:45 pm M-F luxury of owning a business so yes I quilt on Sundays.
My DH goes to play "Dungeons and Dragons" on Sunday evenings so that is when I don't have to think about cooking and of course I quilt!

May Dad would ask if I wanted to take those stitches out with your nose. He said that his Mom wouldn't sew on Sunday.
