my mother doesn't sew on Sunday. I never asked her why, but I think I will the next time I talk to her.

Quilting is fun, relaxing and some is for charitable gifts are to raise funds for the church (the Lord's work). So YES, I quilt anytime I want to and have never felt any guilt for it.
My sister in law has a saying about every stitch put in on Sunday will be ripped out as it is the XXXXX's (bad guy's) work......... I consider that something her Mom taught her. We sewed on Sunday at my house and embroidered. We did things we enjoyed. |
I quilt on Sunday. It is relaxing and a quilter quilts when they want.

Sew on Sunday, rip on Monday. I heard that often enough but
I remember my mother embroidering and she encouraged my sister and me to work on our embroidery on Sundays. We didn't have television to entertain us in the old days. She just didn't sew garments or use her sewing machine. I think Sunday is a day of rest and we should spend the day quietly, doing what we like. Carol J. |
Absolutely! We are not so rooted in what you can or can't do on a particular day. However, I agree with whomever said if I were visiting and it offended them, I could pass FOR ONE DAY. But if that person were living in my home, they would have to adjust.

Not until after church!! But, when I get home, I usually sit and relax with a little piecework or quilting project in my lap.
|
I do if we aren't busy with something else.

For me, quilting is so relaxing and my mind can wander where it chooses, including worship, singing, etc. I'll have a lot of "nose work" to do when I get to heaven.
