I muslin for my quilted postcards and my quilted greeting cards; it works fantstic. Until I get much better at FMQ I won't use it as a backing because all of my goofs would show and the quilt police would lock me up.

Think from here on I will be using it for backs as I found 13 yards of good muslin in a thrift shop for 4.00.

i use muslin on all my quitls , lot cheap to do

I have 2 bolts of the 90" Permanent Press 100% cotton muslin that Walmart sells........so I guess that is a yes! It is soooo soft when it washed!
|
I like using printed fabric or piecing the back withleftover blocks.
|
I have used it a number of times. I generally don't on kid quilts, where I generally prefer flannel or corderoy, but I included crayons with one recently with instuctions on how to customize the back.
I like showing off my quilting, which muslin does. I buy Moda muslin by the minibolt (10 yards), so I have a good quality with an excellent 'hand'. I also use the Moda for printing, so I don't worry about having some left over. |
