Snooze....I want to sign up for her classes, too, so it's good to hear they seem to be worth the time and money. She's amazing on EQ8. Being fairly new to it, I'm sure there are easier ways of doing things then what I am doing. Thank you!

I'll go back and read this thread, I'm looking at finally upgrading my EQ6 to EQ8. It still seems very expensive to me as an upgrade (roughly $160), but I have a birthday coming up...

I did see where I can join their email and get a discount. Every bit helps!

I like some of the new options, is the yardage estimate still so severely borked as to be useless? In 6 it typically still tells you twice the yardage you need (unless everything is square) because it draws a square around whatever shape. I saw where they have an estimate yardage in Fat Quarters option, I don't use them that much but I can see where that would be very useful.

Interesting .... I never knew that about the yardage estimate. Makes sense I guess. But, since I am a "buy more fabric than you think you need because you have been short before" quilter, I use the yardage estimate as a rough guide only and have never experienced that it was double what I needed. I have used the fat quarter estimate for some guild projects which was cool and just perfect as we had a stack of donated FQs.

Good luck with you decision.

[email protected] always buy more, too.. I hate when I don't have enough, go back to store, and they don't have anymore. Hate it hate it hate it.

i've only made one quilt I designed on EQ8 but it was a custom quilt so didn't go by EQ8... I have others yet to make so I'll pay attention and see, too.

Have fun exploring your options!

Score! I just got EQ8 off of Amazon.ca for $151.00 Canadian because the packaging is torn. It should be here tomorrow.:o
Prepare for a barrage of questions.
Off to read this entire thread.

I have gone on a downloading spree! Fabric downloads. I used the https://my.modafabrics.com/shop/redirect.do?page=zDownloads, and https://www.andoverfabrics.com/Our%20Collections.ph and http://northcott.net/product.aspx. I read in one of the threads that Connecting Threads also has a fabric download option, but I couldn't get it to work. Has anyone else found any sites for fabric download?

I know of an EQ7that may be available for sale. What would be a reasonable price to offer for it?
