What is your favorite online fabric/quilting/sewing store?
Do they have better prices, better choices? Thanks! |
I'd have to say overall Fabric.com because I've never gotten a poor quality fabric there, prices are reasonable, and shipping is FAST.
Hancocks of Paducah is *good* but the ship time is LOOOOOONG. Huge selection. Good prices. Sales are great. Their ordering system is not very clear, and the last couple orders I thought I "got" several fabrics, only to find out a week later that "backorder" really means "cancelled". One I found from here was Quilt Fabric Closeouts. Great prices, great quality. The package was packed with such care, it was BEAUTIFUL. Like, they really care about their fabric there. I did the free deal thing from Missouri Star Quilt Co, and I think I'll have to shop them more often. There's something really, really good about these folks. I just can't quite put my finger on it. It's the personable nature that gets me, I think. :D |
I order a lot of fabric from fabric.com and I take advantage of their free shipping offer with a purchase $35 or more. The fabric arrives in just a couple of business days.
been shopping with fabric.com for over 10 years now, free shipping after $35 i can always spend $35 :)
fast, great customer service and a wonderful selection! |
I just placed my first order with Jo Jo's Quilt Shoppe
http://www.jojosgiftshoppe.com/ They had a sale (so that is always good) but I also must say that I enjoyed the checkout feature for shipping. When you checkout you can select to be notified if there is room in your box for additional items at no extra shipping charge. I selected that option and then was notified that I had room in my box (and I could add 6 charm packs or another 2 bali strip packs; or something the equivalent). I got 3 honeybuns LOL. Also, there is a chat feature on the page, and as I was adding the honeybuns to my order I wanted to make sure that they would fit, so I hit the chat button..... well any way they looked up my order and assured me they would fit in the box for no additional charge. At that time I mentioned that I really needed 1 more than what they had in stock.... so she looked up in their inventory and saw they had a shipment coming in with more. I told her she could hold my order until it all was there, so I haven't got it yet and can't speak as to how fast the shipping is.... but I do know the personalized service is top notch! |
whittles fabric and thousand of bolts gets the bulk of my shopper dollars

I have had good service and good quality fabrics from Over the Rainbow in Washington state. I have ordered from them several times and have always been pleased with the results.

Can I toot my own horn? If you are looking for Moda charm packs, I've got those. Also quilting books and lots of patterns. I ship everyday, Monday through Friday, and sometimes on Saturday as well. You can pay with PayPal or a credit card thru PayPal Express. And the best part is shipping is free on all orders! No minimum. US Only.
Sometimes if I over order an item I will list some here in the Buy/Sell/Trade section usually for a little cheaper than the website price. http://www.charmpacksplus.com |
I have had great service and fabrics from
http://www.wishuponaquilt.com/ http://www.whittlesfabrics.com/ http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/ |
I do the fab shop hop, ebay, Favorite Fabrics (here) and anywhere I can find what I am looking for on sale. That is A LOT of surfing.
Ah, it's been a few weeks and we're right on schedule to have another discussion about our favorite online stores.
I've been a fan of http://www.quiltshops.com for about 6 years now. It's a compilation of over 200 stores. If you are looking for something particular, like 'moda moire' or 'sale, blue' just type that in and you will see what stores carry it and what their prices are. Then you place your order with the store of your choice. |

I love Fabric.com, Connecting Threads, and Ebay. I bought from Jeanelle at Charm Packs Plus before I ever came here. I keep her on my favorite seller list at Ebay.
I've ordered often from www.ericas.com - good prices and excellent customer service.
I like fatquartershop.co
I spend a lot of time and money at Connecting Threads.
My favorites are: stitch-n-frame.com -- always discounts 10-15% and has great Thursday specials. fabricshack.com -- huge selection and pretty good prices. I'm becoming a fan of fabricdepot.com
Thanks everyone!!
I really like Fatquater Shop and Missouri Star Quilt Company.
I like http://www.FabricDepot.com They seem to be dependable, have good quality fabrics and offer a nice discount to on-line purchases.
I've used Thousands of Bolts a couple of times and was very happy with them. Much cheaper than buying in the shops here in New Zealand!
Hey- I've ordered kabillions from charmspackplus on ebay and I love your service!!! You should probably name a wing of your future house after me :) Or at least a toilet paper holder. Thank you for being such an awesome seller and for being so great.
I like Marshalls Dry Goods. They ship fast and their fabric is great to work with. Many many different choices too
I use piecework fabrics They always have a good sale.
I use Fabric Shack alot. They have good fabric, shipping is fast and lots of times is half price shipping. Also they always have lots of sale fabrics. I also like Fabrics.com though their shipping is a little slower but also free with a $35 order.
Old Country Store is good too but for me their web-site is a little slower to navigate through. But the fabrics are nice. |
Fabric.com has been my choice for many years now and have never been disappointed.
I like fabric.com, thousands of bolts, Over the Rainbow ( I have asked if fabrics colors go together and they have replied promptly). I also do a lot of surfing for a specific fabric and do searches for discounted fabric.
equilter.com is my favorite. The quality is great and the prices are LQS but the selection is the best around. Needed 22 specific shades of solids for a quilt and got them there....even Hancock's Paducah didn't have them all.
What darling Boston terries!! We had one or two at a time for many years. What a joy to see such sweet pups.

I'm lucky to be very close to Whittles but for online I like fabric.com too.
And someone had recently posted about https://www.deltapatchwork.com/index.php]https://www.deltapatchwork.com/index.php[/url] and their packages are so nice that you really do feel you have gotten a present! edited "not enough coffee yet" typos  |
I buy a lot of fabric online and always start with my favorite sites when searching for something specific. Over the Rainbow has the best service by far. Fabric.com has the best sales, if you wait long enough for something you want, it will be on sale at some point. They send e-mails for specials every day. The worst site I have ever dealt with is Stitch n Frame. Very poor service, up to 2 weeks for shipping and no notification if your order is complete or not.
I like equilter.com...she has a great selection and quick service, but I shop mainly in my home town and in my own fabric room now that I've straighten it up and can see what I have.
Sew Spider in Mugadore, Ohio is great! She send emails about her sales, she is easy to work with, and all around, a great shop!

Thousandsofbolts.com is an excellent source. I paid $4.15/yard for fabric I could not find at any of my local quilt shops and I have access to quite a few. Shipping was reasonable and I received the fabric in about 4 days. Very impressed and am telling everyone.
I have also shopped at Hancock's online and have had very good results. Yardage is cut generously and I received in about 4 days as well. |
Hancocks of Paducah, they have great sales! Also Fabric.com, and ebay, etsy, too.
My favorite is Fabric.com Has great sales and shipping of $35.00 is free. Fast service. I found a fabric I needed to finish a quilt kit I purchases 2 years ago. When I started cutting out the fabric, I mixed up 2 fabrics. I paid 3.66 a yard vs the $9 py it was when I bought the kit. Great find!
I like Clotilde and Burgany Buttons the best. Both are wonderful on service and product is outstanding. Can't say enough about how great these to sites are.

equilter.com is a great source, plus a percentage of your purchase price is donated to a charity of your choice.
